Verrucae Needling

Verrucae Needling is a simple procedure under Local anaesthetic. Needling involves usually one maybe two injections around the Verrucae and then a needling technique first described by Faulkner in the 1960s.

A verruca is caused by a viral infection of the skin which can't be detected easily by the body's immune system. Needling damages the hard casing surrounding the verruca and pushes the virus further into the body which stimulates an immune response to occur. This means that if the technique is successful you will be immune to that specific family of virus.

Statistically needling is roughly 70% effective with the first treatment , however personally I find results are higher than this. Occasionally a second treatment is required three months after the first treatment.

Post operative pain is minimal.
